Magnificent 7 take on the Coast-to-Coast Challenge
Some of you may have noticed that Spin classes are in high demand at the moment with the back row packed with some new lads working harder than your average spinner. They have good reason to be cranking it up as new members, Mark Little, John MacDonald and Colin McKay have joined Energy Gym to get in shape for an almighty cycling challenge – the monster 375km cycle from Aberdeen to Ardnamurchan.
We caught up with Mark who explains that he is part of a group of seven ’50 ish’ blokes (clearly John is much younger…) who pick a challenge each year. Sometimes they raise money for charity, others years they simply pick a physical challenge to test themselves. Previously they have tackled Kilimanjaro, the Caledonian & Rob Roy challenges and the New York Marathon. This year’s coast-to-coast may be the toughest yet as they have limited cycling experience and are facing a 5 day journey over tough off-road terrain and covering an awesome 7000m of ascent and descent.
We are delighted that the lads have joined Energy Gym to get ready for their challenge (6th June) and will support ’the magnificent 7′ all the way.
