Energy Gym is proud to launch Edinburgh’s only Kettlercise Classes
Regular followers of Energy Gym will know that we hosted a free Kettlercise Class on Saturday 22nd October –
http://ow.ly/76IUN. The class was booked out with 16 people ready to swing the bells. After a swift warm up we were straight into it: swings, cleans, presses, you name it, with over 20 moves designed to work all your muscle groups (including abs) and cardio. The concept is straightforward, however, the class is deceptively hard, with no rest between exercises to work you to the max. The reps are the killer, with fatigue kicking in remarkably fast even for experienced gym goers. Although I was initally worried about working with lighter weights, it was soon obvious why. The great news is it wasn’t just me who was finding it tough – guys who usually work with 16kgs and above were challenged using 12kg/8kgs. The great thing with Kettlercise is that everyone can work at their own level, with beginners getting a great workout with 4kgs or 6kgs. Kathy O’Neill, our instructor was great – checking on technique to ensure we were working safely at all times and motivating us to keep on going. For skeptics out there, we work with Kettlebells on a regular basis, however, we were aching all over the next day - a sure indication that this new class can drive better results than working on your own (where it is easy to stop or miss out key exercises).
Not surprisingly, the feedback has been great and due to demand, we are adding Kettlercise to the Energy Gym schedule starting on Friday 4th November. Regular classes will run on Fridays at 7pm and a new Kettlebell Circuit on Saturdays at 11.15am. So book now and make this a core part of your strength and conditioning programme. Our new classes are open to members and non members.
